On Monday, Amazon announced the redesign of prime video. The new app will be available on connected living room devices like fire TV sticks and android devices. The redesign will also come to iOS and the web in the future.
The new prime video experience is like the Netflix experience. The major change in the prime video redesign is the navigation menu on the right side of the screen. If you use Netflix, this can look familiar to you.
Prime Video is also taking Netflix’s one of the best features by putting a top 10 list on the homepage. The major highlight of the prime video redesign is that it does a better job of showing the content you can watch for free and letting you know which content will cost extra.
When a movie or a show is included in your prime subscription, Amazon will mark it with a blue check mark. If it is available to buy or rent or through a subscription to another service, Amazon will market with a yellow shopping bag icon.
Other updates include a new color palette and carousels that made prime video less busy and overwhelming. This is a significant change in one of the most outdated streaming apps on the market.
