Apple Announces March 8 Event; Launch of Low-Cost 5G iPhone and new iPad Expected

Apple announced its grand hardware event of 2022 on March 8. The event goes with the tagline “Peek performance.” The event is anticipated to see the launch of a new iPhone SE, and there is also a possibility of launching an iPad Air Model. The invite shared by Apple with Media contains a multi-colored Apple logo that could indicate devices to be launched soon.

The ‘Peek Performance’ even will be organized virtually and streamed from Apple Park. In addition, it will be available to watch online at Apple.com.

As per the Bloomberg report, Apple will likely launch iPhone SE 3 at the event. It will be a cheaper iPhone like the current iPhone SE launched in 2020. However, it will have enhanced features, a more efficient chip, and 5G connectivity. In addition, the phone is likely to have better camera hardware. However, the design of the new iPhone SE 3 or iPhone SE 2022- is said to have similar to the current model, which means the new SE model will also have thick bezels and Touch ID biometrics.

Some reports show that Apple might continue to sell iPhone SE 2020 in markets such as; India at a lower price, similar to its approach towards the aging Apple Watch Series 3. This is an excellent opportunity for budget-conscious consumers a good entry-point into Apple-verse while ramping up Cupertino’s volume share, making it a tough competition against the Chinese players.

Paralleled the iPhone SE 3, Apple is likely to launch an updated iPad Air with a new chip and 5G. In addition, the event is expected to announce more information on iOS 15.4 launch. The iOS 15.4 will bring features unlocking the device with Face-ID-equipped iPhone and iPads with the mask on.

In March, Apple launched the updated Mac computers with a new M2 chip. However, its launch in the ‘Peek Performance’ seems slim.
