Apple announced earlier this month that its iMac Pro desktop computer will be discontinued. The online store stated at the time that the base model was available “while supplies last,” implying that the computer was no longer in development.

Today, however, the company is building on this concept by discontinuing two iMac versions.

Apple has withdrawn two choices of the 21.5-inch iMac device from its online store, according to Macrumors. For the time being, the 12.5-inch iMac is only available in the 256GB storage form. This was available in 1TB and 512GB capacities, but these are no longer available. A 27-inch iMac with 512GB of storage is still available.

This also means that the cheapest iMac you can buy is actually $1,099.

It’s worth noting that Apple’s decision to phase out its iMac models strongly implies that these will receive an update in terms of Apple Silicon processor and appearance very soon.

It has already caused some speculation. According to a January study by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s Face ID facial recognition programme, which was supposed to be included in this year’s iMac update, has now been moved to the second version of the redesign.
