Covid-19. The circulation of the virus accelerates in the Rhône

Epidemiological indicators continue to indicate an acceleration in the circulation of the virus in the Rhône, with an incidence of 213 / 100,000 in the ward and 204.7 / 100,000 in Metropolis and a positivity rate bordering on 8% for the sliding week from 12 to 17 January.

The plateau is still high in health care institutions with 946 patients admitted on 19 January (+14), including 131 in intensive care (-4), and still a large number of new patients: 69 during the last 24 hours, including 12 in intensive care. With 13 new deaths since Monday, the number of patients who have died in hospital has risen to 2,053 since March 1.

10 new patients in intensive care

In HCL, where the number of inpatients increased from 299 to 312 in one week, the increase in the number of intensive care patients seems worrying. On 19 January at noon, 162 patients were admitted to medicine (-1), 75 to follow-up and intensive care (+4) and 75 to intensive care (+10) where 180 beds remain open (against 139 first).

However, the occupancy rate remains stable, with 37% of Covid + patients (compared with 38% on 12 January). The number of calls to SAMU in connection with Covid-19 increased somewhat (7% vs. 6.3%), but not the number of visits to adult emergencies (9.34% vs. 9.59%).
