Domino’s data breach: Hacker selling data for 10 Bitcoins

Domino’s India website was reportedly hacked and confidential customer information such as names, phone numbers, and credit card details have been put up for sale on the Dark Web.

 

The hacker who is selling the data claims that it contains information on about 18 crore pizza orders received by the chain.

 

Domino’s India data was allegedly stolen in April, and it contained customer information as well as internal files containing information about the company’s 250 employees, totaling 13 TB. However, this knowledge has yet to be confirmed.

The Domino’s India breach was mentioned on Twitter by Alon Gal, CTO of cybersecurity firm Hudson Rock. The hacker was selling the data for about 10 BTC, he said.

Alon Gal, also was the amongst the first ones to report the Facebook data breach.

The Domino’s India hacked information is thought to include the information for 1 million credit cards. Customer names, phone numbers, email addresses, and payment information were amongst the order details leaked. The internal flies of Domino’s India created between 2015 and 2021 are allegedly included in the breach.

 

The hacker announced plans to create a search portal that would enable users to query the leaked data on the dark web.

Domino’s India is owned by foodservice group Jubilant Foodworks, which runs the franchise of American pizza restaurant chain Domino’s Pizza, according to a company spokesperson. There are 1,314 restaurants in 285 cities in the franchise’s network.

 

Jubilant Foodworks also runs the Domino’s Pizza brand in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, in addition to India. It’s unclear if the data of consumers in the other three countries are compromised.
