According to figures from Public Health France, 15 more have died of Covid-19 in the Jura in the last 24 hours, a total of 358 in hospitals since the pandemic started. In addition, 120 elderly people lost their lives in nursing homes, as a result of Covid-19.
Eight people are in intensive care (-3 compared to yesterday, Sunday 31 January) and 221 are hospitalized (-7).
1275 people have returned to their homes since the pandemic began.
29.1% more deaths from all causes
Between 1 September 2020 and 18 January 2021, Jura registered 1,216 deaths (all causes), or 29.1% more than a year earlier during the same period, according to figures from INSEE. Among these deaths, 292 are due to Covid-19 (243 in hospitals and 49 in nursing homes).
This percentage is above the regional percentage, which stands at 26.5%. Between 1 September 2020 and 18 January 2021, 14,540 people lost their lives in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, making it the second region, after the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, where mortality is highest.
