Landspouts are a type of tornado that is formed when the air near the surface is spinning. That spinning air will get sucked up into a developing thunderstorm, making a funnel. Landspouts are generally weaker than the typical tornadoes we generally see in the rest of the country.
The thunderstorm in the area came to an end by 6 PM Wednesday evening, more storm chances remain in the forecast into the weekend.
