The United States and its accomplices will answer in a united way to “an unprovoked and unjustified attack by Russian military forces” on Ukraine, said Joe Biden, the U.S President. He further added that he would announce measures to be imposed on Russia by the U.S and its allies. Biden’s statement came after Putin told Russian state TV that he had authorized a military operation in eastern Ukraine and there were explosions in the capital city of Ukraine, Kyiv.
Biden said that he would monitor the situation from the White House before meeting virtually with his counterparts from the Seven advanced economies Group. He also said that Washington would also coordinate with NATO allies “to ensure a strong united response that deters any aggression against the alliance.”

According to the website of NATO, consultation under article 4 can result to amalgamated action among 30 member states.
