According to weekly data from the Regional Health Agency, 15 elderly people died in nursing homes in the week of 4 to 10 January and 5 nursing home residents died in hospitals.

Since the pandemic started, 393 elderly people have died at the nursing home and 127 nursing home residents have died at the hospital. Which amounts to a total of 520 deaths inside and outside the walls of medical-social institutions.

In total, nursing homes and hospital staff combined, 804 people have lost their lives in the ward since the pandemic began.

30 fewer people are hospitalized this Friday 15 January or a total of 223, and 21 people are currently in intensive care (or 6 more than yesterday, Thursday 14 January).

1667 people have returned home (+41 compared to yesterday).

As a reminder, Thursday night, the Prime Minister announced that the entire French territory went under curfew from tomorrow Saturday.

In Ain, the degree of positivity for the period 4 to 10 January was 9.7%. Of the 14,691 tests performed during this period, 1428 tests returned positive. Since the pandemic started in Ehpad, there have been 2,603 ​​confirmed cases among residents and 1,291 among employees.

As of 12 January, the incidence had fallen slightly to 202.14 (compared with 217 on 10 January) and the effective R (virus reproduction rate) had fallen to 1.16. The department was still at 0.88 at the beginning of the week.
