According to figures from Public Health France, 5 people have died of Covid-19 in the Jura in the last 24 hours, a total of 363 in hospital since the pandemic started. In addition, 120 elderly people have lost their lives in nursing homes, as a result of Covid-19 (the latest figures date from 22 January).

Seven people are in intensive care (-1 compared to yesterday, Monday 1 February) and 209 are hospitalized (-12). The number of hospital admissions continues to decline.

1292 (+17) people have returned to their homes since the pandemic began.

29.1% more deaths from all causes

Between 1 September 2020 and 18 January 2021, Jura registered 1,216 deaths (all causes), or 29.1% more than a year earlier during the same period, according to figures from INSEE. Among these deaths, 292 are due to Covid-19 (243 in hospitals and 49 in nursing homes).

This percentage is above the regional percentage, which stands at 26.5%. Between 1 September 2020 and 18 January 2021, 14,540 people lost their lives in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, making it the second region, after the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, where mortality is highest.
